What is not shared
The list nobody puts on a sales page. Some of it CoreMed handles anyway.
Why we publish this
Every sharing community has exclusions and most affiliates bury them. You are making a decision about your family's healthcare, so here is the list, and here is which parts CoreMed picks up.
Not eligible for sharing
Dental. Cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, wisdom teeth, bite guards. Tooth damage from an accident tied to an eligible sharing request may be considered.
Diabetic medication and supplies. Testing supplies, medication, equipment.
Allergy testing and medication. An emergency room visit for a reaction may still be considered.
Fertility evaluations and treatment. Genetic screening and counselling. Hearing aids. Breast implant removal. Abortion.
Fees, interest and taxes on medical bills, including late fees caused by slow paperwork. These never count toward your IUA.
Injuries resulting from a criminal act, or from being under the influence while committing one.
Where CoreMed fills the gap
Three of those gaps are ones a CoreMed membership already handles, which is the entire argument for pairing the two rather than taking sharing on its own.
Dental: annual cleanings are part of a CoreMed membership in regions with a partner dentist, with clear pricing on other work. See dental.
Everyday prescriptions, including diabetic and allergy medication, run through CoreMed Rx rather than through sharing.
Routine labs and imaging are part of Primary and Comprehensive, so they never depend on a sharing determination at all.
If something is declined
A sharing request that is not eligible may still be considered through Zion's Additional Giving fund. Ask us and we will help you put it forward.

Common questions
Is dental shared?
No, not by Zion. But annual cleanings are part of a CoreMed membership where we have a partner dentist, and other work is priced up front.
What about my insulin?
Diabetic medication and supplies are not shared. They go through CoreMed Rx instead.
Are allergy medications shared?
No. Allergy testing and medication are excluded, though an emergency room visit for a reaction may be considered. Everyday allergy medication goes through CoreMed Rx.
What happens if a request is declined?
It may still be eligible through Zion's Additional Giving fund. Message us and we will help you submit it.
